Pennridge senior attack Amanda Jaynes commits to play Division II lacrosse at Bloomsburg University.

Jaynes earned Suburban One Continental Conference 2nd team all-league hoinors last year and was the Defensive MVP for Pennridge.

Jaynes, a member of the Distinguished Honor Roll, will major in Business Management.

“Bloomsburg has everything I wanted, from the size to the distance from my house, to also having a specific program for my major,” said Jaynes. “My visit went well, I went up for a school tour and then I went up for a meeting with a coach.

“I learned more about the team, met a couple players, and could really picture myself attending school there,” she said. “I also liked Coach (Leah) Carr (Methacton alum), and the new turf and athletic facilities are really nice as well.”

Also from Philly in the senior class, defenders Carly Ball (North Penn), Molly Dubs (Council Rock South), midfielders Allie Campbell (Owen J. Roberts) and Grace Malizia (Perkiomen Valley) and attack Morgan Sherriff (Coatesville) have committed to Bloomsburg.

Pennridge started off its season this weekend with a 14-13 triumph over Perkiomen Valley. Jaynes cautioned that the team is young, but she believes the Rams can continue to be a contender.

“It has been a goal of Pennridge’s lacrosse team to make playoffs since 2009, and we have for two years,” said Jaynes. “With only four returning seniors and a young team, it is still my goal to make playoff’s again this year and to compete at a high level in our league with other great teams.”
