Wednesday’s men’s college roundup: Haverford College, Eastern, Ursinus, Immaculata claim wins

Host Haverford College got a game-best four goals each from Myles Monaghan and Nick Schoen en route to a 19-10 win over visiting Washington College on Wednesday evening in Centennial Conference men’s lacrosse action at Swan Field.

The No. 10 Fords are now 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference, while the Shoremen drop to 3-3 and 1-1 respectively. Max Hjelm (Conestoga) added three goals for Haverford.

Eastern 7, Elizabethtown 4

Matt Soldano scored three goals and Chris Farrar scored twice while AJ Ryan won 10 of 14 face-offs and Aaron Benz made nine saves to help the Eagles (2-3) claim their Middle Atlantic Conference opener with a huge win.

Ursinus 7, Franklin & Marshall 5

Jeff Ocampo had four goals to pace the Bears (6-1, 2-0) to the Centennial Conference victory.

Eastern's Matt Soldan ... 3 goals in victory

Immaculata 15, Richard Stockton 11

Joey Shallow (Lower Merion) had five goals and two assists and Ben Tuscai (West Chester East) added two goals and five assists while Dante Tuscai (West Chester East) had three goals and two assists for the Mighty Macs (2-3).

Jon Diodati (Henderson) had 13 saves in goal.

Division I

Notre Dame 8, Ohio State 7

Liam O’Connor (Haverford School) won 13 of 16 face-offs and Westy Hopkins (La Salle) scored once to help the No. 3 Irish remain unbeaten with a tight win over Ohio State.
