Sunday’s men’s roundup: Blye (D’town East) leads Maryland past St. Joe’s; Wolf enjoys another big day for Duke

Owen Blye (Downingtown East) had three goals and two assists – both career highs – to help host Maryland topple struggling St. Joseph;’s, 11-4, today in non-conference men’s lacrosse.

Also for the No. 7 Terps (6-1), defenseman Brett Schmidt (Upper Dublin) had four groundballs and two caused turnovers and goalie Niko Amato (La Salle) made four saves for the victory.

Scott Cullinan (West Chester East), Steve Dunn (Malvern Prep), Johnny Simanski and Kyle Williams (0-6) each scored once for the Hawks.

Duke 18, Dartmouth 10

Jordan Wolf (Lower Merion) had a goal and four assists and Dan Wigrizer (Haverford School) made five saves in one half of action as the Blue Devils improved to 6-2.

Wolf, last year’s Phillylacrosse.com Co-Player of the Year, has 12 goals and 4 assists in his last five games – all Duke wins – since being moved to attack from midfield.
