Saturday’s D3 men’s roundup: Cabrini & Haverford College win, Ursinus edges Eastern

Jeff Crosby scored four goals as the No. 20 Cabrini men’s lacrosse team captured its second straight win on Saturday afternoon, topping North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opponent Kenyon College, 15-7, at Edith Robb Dixon Field.

Senior midfielder Dan Terenick (Ridley) added three goals and freshman attackman Matt Biegel (West ester East) recorded two goals and handed out one assist. Senior attackman Paul Skulski (Garnet Valley) directed the Cabrini offense and totaled four assists. Senior midfielder Mike Gurenlian (Springfield-Delco) and sophomore attackman Bobby Thorp each added two assists.

Junior attackman Brian Hill (Ridley) sophomore Brandon Dunn (Conestoga) and freshman midfielder JoJo Cooper each scored once. Sophomore goalkeeper Erick Zarzecki made the start for the Cavaliers and played nearly 50 minutes, recording eight saves. Freshman Steve Oppenheimer (Germantown Academy) came on in relief and posted two stops.

Haverford College 10, Denison 7

Myles Monaghan had three goals and an assist as the No. 8 Fords (5-1) toppled No. Denison (2-1).

Jason Leeds added three goals for Haverford and Max Hjelm (Conestoga) added a pair.

Ursinus 7, Eastern 6

Jeff Ocampo and Andrew Bean each scored twice fore the Bears (4-1). Chris Farrar had three goals for the Eagles (1-2).

Immaculata 9, Lebanon Valley 8

Ben Tuscai (West Chester East) scored with 12.9 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Mighty Macs to a stunning comeback victory over visiting Lebanon Valley.

Immaculata (2-1) scored six unanswered goals during the final 32:53 of the contest to overcome an 8-3 deficit.

Tuscai finished with a four points on a hat trick and one assist. Dante Tuscai (West Chester East) and Mike Boyd each recorded one goal and one assist. Joey Shallow (Lower Merion), Ryan Cipriani, Jordan Smith and Taylor Acree (Boyertown) finished with one tally apiece. Immaculata goalkeeper Jon Diodati (Henderson) picked up this second-straight win with 17 saves.

Widener 12, Frostburg State 5

Andrew Janusz (Easton) scored four goals and sophomore Johnny Casey (Abington) added three for the Pride (2-1) while Michael Bassani scored twice and freshman Robert Clemens (Sun Valley) had a goal and two assists.

Colorado College 11, Goucher 9

Rory Averett (Council Rock North) scored twice and Matt Lynch (La Salle) had a goal and an assist for Goucher (1-4) in a game played at Swarthmore College.

Colorado College – coached by former Penn State assistant Guy Van Arsdale and his assistant Mike Podgajny (Ridley grad) – plays at Swarthmore today at noon.

Dickinson 14, Roanoke 13

The No. 13 Devils improved to 5-0 with the win over No. 5 Roanoke (4-1) as Matt Cherry (Radnor) had two goals and an assist.

Messiah College 15, York College 12

Messiah (2-2) dealt York (4-1) its first defeat as attackman Heath Kupecky (Upper Merion) had four goals and two assists.
