Hill School senior midfielder Megan Kelly has made a verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Franklin & Marshall College.

Hill School senior Megan Kelly has committed to Franklin & Marshall

Kelly was an Honorable Mention Middle-Atlantic Prep choice in 2010 when she was named the Blue and Gray Award winner for her dedication and leadership by her teammates. This year she is a co-captain.

She will play for an F&M program that won the Division III National championship in 2009 and went 16-4 last year, falling to Hamilton in the NCAA finals.

“I chose Franklin & Marshall because it has everything I’m looking for in a college experience, including great academics, awesome lacrosse and field hockey programs, a close-knit community, study abroad opportunities, and more,” Kelly said.

Kelly, who is currently undeclared, was impressed immediately during her recruiting visit during the fall when “it seemed like my right fit.”

“I spent time with the girls on lacrosse team and other students on campus, and I just loved the people,” Kelly said. “Everyone was so warm, welcoming, and fun to be around. I felt so comfortable with everyone.”

Kelly’s teammate, midfielder Callie Francis, has already committed to Division I Duke University. Another Hill alum, junior Casey Downie, is a defender at F&M.

As for this year, Kelly is committed to leading her team to another successful season. Last year the Blues went 11-5.

“My co-captain and I decided our goals are: work together, compete, and have fun,” Kelly said. “We decided we want to constantly support each other, work as hard as we can, and enjoy playing together.”
