Downingtown West senior attack Rhyan Bofinger has committed to play Division 1 lacrosse at Robert Morris University (Pa.).

Bofinger helped the Whippets finish 12-7 and qualify for the District 1 playoffs last year. She plays club lacrosse for Aftershock.

Bofinger plans on majoring in Chemistry at Robert Morris, located near Pittsburgh.

“I liked the location and the size of the classes at Robert Morris,” said Bofinger. “When I went on my visit I had a lot of fun and the team was very welcoming.”

The Colonials (7-8 in 2010) play in the Northeast Conference and kick off their season at Bucknell on February 27.

Bofinger will join her former high school teammate, Courtney Sicinski, a junior attack at Robert Morris.

Bofinger is optimistic Downingtown West will remain a challenger in the Ches-Mont League.

“I am looking forward to working hard, working together as a team, and always keeping a positive attitude,” she said.
