Friends’ Central junior midfielder Becca Dahle has made a verbal commitment to play lacrosse and enter the admissions process at Brown University.

Friends' Central junior Becca Dahle has committed to Brown

Dahle was a First Team Friends Schools League pick last year when she had 45 goals and 49 assists and helped the Phoenix (12-5) win the league championship. She also plays club lacrosse for the Phantastix.

Dahle is most interested in math and science.

“I feel so privileged to be offered the opportunity to play lacrosse and attend a school like Brown,” she said. “I could not be any more excited.

“Brown was the first school I visited and it was my favorite place right from the get-go. When I went back again in the fall and met the coaches and the team, it reinforced that I wanted to go there.”

Brown finished 7-8 overall last year under coach Keely McDonald. The campus is located in Providence, R.I.

“I liked that the campus was close to the city, but not right in the middle of the city,” Dahle said. “I went to Junior Day and had a really good time with the girls on the team – especially the freshmen.”

Dahle believes Friends’ Central is ready for the challenge of defending its league championship.

“Being a part of that team (last year) was such an honor, but we did lose a lot of people,” she said. “Our team has been working really hard in the off-season and we’ll definitely be competitive with our league opponents and those from out of the league.”

Note – Student-athletes making Ivy League verbals will have to go through the normal admissions process in the fall of the senior year
