Penn Charter senior midfielder Grant Guyer has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Dickinson College.

Guyer helped the Quakers to a 10-10 record while scoring 23 goals and registering 26 assists in 2010. He plays club lacrosse for LB3.

Guyer, who is an honor student at Penn Charter, will enter Dickinson undecided on a major.

Since his sophomore year Guyer has ranked Dickinson at the top of his list. “The academics and level of lacrosse, as well as being only two hours away were a huge factor,” he said. “On my first visit I fell in love with the campus and coach Webster.”

Guyer is one of three local products to have committed to Dickinson. Joining him will be teammate Tyler White (midfielder) and Malvern Prep midfielder Colin Farrell. Also, Guyer’s teammates, Joey Sankey (D1 North Carolina, attackman) and Andy Grabowski (D3 Williams College, attackman) have made college commitments.

Guyer said the Quakers are ready for the challenge of the 2011 season and hope to contend in the powerful Inter-Ac League. Penn Charter also has a tough non-league schedule that includes out-of-state powers Loyola-Blakefield (Md), Landon (DC), St. Anne’s-Belfield (Va.), and St. Augustine Prep, as well as defending state champion Conestoga and Catholic League power St. Joseph’s Prep.

The Quakers’ roster remains much in place from last year, despite two departures on defense.

“We are working hard and we will not be taking anyone lightly this year,” Guyer said.
