Episcopal Academy senior defender Allie Clark has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Gettysburg College.

Clark helped EA claim its sixth straight Inter-Ac league championship last year. She plays club lacrosse for Ultimate Goal.

Episcopal Academy's Allie Clark has committed to Gettysburg

Clark will play for Gettysburg coach Carol Cantele (alum of former Nether Providence High, now Strath Haven), who recently was named FieldTurf Division III Coach of the Year. Last year Cantele guided the Bullets to an 18-4 record and a berth in the NCAA semifinals where they fell to eventual champion Salisbury.

Clark plans to major in Health Sciences at Gettysburg.

“When I first visited I met the coaches and they were very positive and encouraging and have the drive to win,” said Clark. “They have the same kind of feel as at Episcopal.

“I love the chemistry when I watched the team play. It has a great feel. They are a very competitive team and they keep improving each year. I want to help continue that.”

Clark is the fifth Episcopal Academy senior to commit or sign to play college lacrosse. Taylor Trimble (midfielder) has signed with Duke and Maggie Forker (defender) has signed with Vanderbilt while Blake McHugh (attack) has committed to Northwestern and Claire MacManus (defender/midfielder) has committed to Cornell.

Clark is excited about the coming 2011 scholastic season and believes EA can retain its Inter-Ac crown.

“I expect us to be just as successful as we were last year,” she said. “We lost some seniors, but I think we are fortunate to have five senior starters returning and I think we’ll have a great team with a lot of good competition.”
