used turnover as host Johns Hopkins Jays edged stubborn Siena, 8-7, Sunday in men’s college lacrosse.
Michael Kimmel scored the game-winner with 48 seconds to play for the No. 4 Blue Jays (3-0). Matt Dolente (Malvern Prep) won two of five face-offs for Hopkins. The Saints fell to 0-2.
Notre Dame 12, Penn State 8
Defenseman Mike Creighton (Malvern Prep) had two caused turnovers and a groundball to help the host Fighting Irish (2-0, ranked No. 3) improve to 2-0. Matt Mackrides (Malvern Prep) scored twice for the Nittany Lions (0-2) and Colton Vosburgh (Unionville) had an assist and a groundball while defenseman Billy Davis (Conestoga) had a caused turnover.
Syracuse 12, Army 7
Rob McCallion (Episcopal Academy) had an assist and a groundball for the Black Knights (1-2) in their loss to No. 1 Syracuse (2-0).
St. John’s 10, Air Force 7
Tom Manes (Archbishop Ryan) had a goal and an assist and Jarrett Carr (Hatboro-Horsham) scored once to lift the Red Storm to 2-0.
