College lacrosse openings: Arcadia men (head coach), Phila. University women (assistant)

The following college coaching positions have been posted:

Arcadia men’s head coach (full-time)

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following functions which, are not listed in any particular order of importance or significance:

Recruiting: identifies prospective student-athletes qualified for admission to Arcadia University, effectively communicates with prospective student-athletes; effectively communicates and coordinates recruitment efforts with Arcadia’s Office of Enrollment Management.

Coaching/Student-Athlete Experience: demonstrates knowledge of, and ability to develop, sport skills, strategies and philosophy; promotes student-athlete welfare and provides appropriate mentoring to student-athletes and assistant coach.

Program Administration: operates within all University, Commonwealth Athletic Conference and NCAA III guidelines; schedules practices; maintains inventory of equipment, uniforms, and supplies; carry out team travel according to established policies and procedures; effectively communicates within the Department and with the University community on matters pertaining to program. Will work with the Department of Athletics to secure playing and practice facilities off campus for the team.

Department Equipment Manager: maintains working order of the department’s athletic equipment including but not limited to organizing storage areas, laundry areas, and general use areas.

Supervision: identifies, hires, trains and evaluates assistant coach, including volunteers; ensures that assistant coach/volunteer adhere to all university, Commonwealth Athletic Conference and NCAA III guidelines. How to Apply:

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent required. Master’s degree preferred. Two to three years experience in coaching at the college level or significant experience coaching at the high school or club level, or equivalent required and/or collegiate playing experience. Experience in start-up programs a plus. Ability to recruit outstanding student-athletes to a strong academic environment. Ability to effectively teach and coach students in both a team and individual setting. A commitment to providing a positive role model and leadership to the team as well as excellent communication skills are required. Ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of people in a manner that positively portrays the University and its programs, personnel, and philosophies. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record insurable by the University’s insurer.

Philadelphia university women’s assistant coach
Philadelphia University seeks a Part Time Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach in the Athletics Department.

Responsibilities:

Assist the head coach with the organization and direction of all aspects of the NCAA Division II Women’s’ Lacrosse program.

Specific responsibilities include identification and recruitment of athletically and academically qualified student-athletes; regular practice sessions and game preparation; and assisting with the management of equipment, team travel, public/alumni relations and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the NCAA Division II athletics program.

The successful candidate must possess and will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, good work ethic and self-motivation, the ability and willingness to be a positive role model, department member and representative of Philadelphia University.
