Panthers win the Mercer County championship and reach the finals of the New Jersey Preps tournament.

Stevens, who plays club lacrosse for Ultimate Goal and began playing with Lower Bucks youth, joins club teammate Jamie Bumgardner (Gwynedd Mercy Academy midfielder) as a recent GW recruit.

“I love the academics at GW,” she said. “I love that it’s a city school and when I met the girls I could tell they have great team chemistry.”

Stevens, an Honor Roll student, plans to study either physical therapy, sports marketing or athletic training.

“I want to work in the sports field,” she said.

Stevens had 19 goals and 20 assists last year and played on the South Jersey team at the National Tournament. Princeton Day School went 14-4 and fell to state power Peddie School in the Prep finals after toppling Stuart Day School in the Mercer County title game.

“Next year we lose three players and they’ll be hard to replace, but I think we’ll do well,” she said. “We have a great senior class, and I am excited for next year. I definitely think we’ll come out with the same intensity.”
