Recent Bayard Rustin graduate Tim Shaw (midfielder) has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Elizabethtown College.
Shaw, who played club lacrosse for Penn Premier, was an Honorable Mention Ches-Mont League pick in 2010 for Rustin.
He originally committed to play at Division II Florida Southern, but changed his commitment to Elizabethtown, which went 10-1 last year in the Middle Atlantic Conference before bowing in the league semifinals.
Shaw will major in Engineering.
“Last season they were really strong and I want to be a part of that winning tradition.” Shaw said.
Elizabethtown already has a strong Philly connection. Thirteen players on the 2010 Blue Jays’ squad were from Philly: sophomore Mike McGraw and freshmen Sean McGraw, Nick Thompson and Nick Antosh of Strath Haven; seniors Chris Day and Jon Day and sophomore Sean O’Neill of Bishop Shanahan; freshmen Donnie Krausse and Kyle Lord of Sun Valley; freshman Brent Antosh of Holy Ghost Prep; junior Brian Schaaf of West Chester East; sophomore Dan Patton of Penncrest; and junior Robert Zambrana of Upper Darby.
This year’s recruits include Interboro’s Adam Moore (goalie) and Vince Latham (midfielder), Ridley’s Casey Decker (defenseman), Phoenixville’s Josh Frey (goalie) and Hill School’s Tyler Schindler (midfielder).
