Phillylacrosse.com salutes the accomplishments of the region’s boys’ lacrosse players with Day 2 of its All-Phillylacrosse.com choices. The players were selected with much input from region coaches.
Midfield

Jeff Heath, St. Joseph’s Prep, Jr.

Under Armour Underclassmen, Catholic League South Division first-team pick … Collected 42 goals, 12 assists and 29 groundballs … Throwback two-way performer who led Hawks to Catholic League finals and wins over St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), Episcopal Academy, Malvern Prep and Emmaus .. Has committed to University of Delaware.

Mark Jackson, Malvern Prep, Sr.

Inter-Ac league first-team pick … Standout two-way performer for Friars and leader of team that tied for Inter-Ac League championship … Collected 32 goals, 11 assists and 42 groundballs … Will play at Villanova University.

Tyler Johnston, Ridley, Sr.

US Lacrosse All-American, All-EPSLA, Central League first-team pick …Was all-around force for Green Raiders, who finished fourth in the Central League … Had 33 goals and 18 assists … Will play at Georgetown University

Ryan Lord, Conestoga, Sr.

US Lacrosse All-American, All-EPSLA, Central League first-team pick …Was dominant force in controlling midfield and setting up transition game for the District 1 and PIAA state champions … Had 19 goals … Will play at the University of Maryland.

Patrick Resch, La Salle, Sr.

US Lacrosse All-American, All-EPSLA, Catholic League first-team pick …Was glue to team that won seventh straight Catholic League championship and reached the PIAA title game … Scored 33 goals … Will play at Dartmouth College.

Matt Walters, Haverford School, Jr.

Under Armour Underclassmen, Inter-Ac League first-team pick … Scored 30 goals for Inter-Ac co-champions … Had game-winner in OT to defeat Episcopal Academy in Inter-Ac Invitational and last-minute GW in dramatic 8-7 win over Conestoga … Has committed to play at Syracuse.

Face-Off Specialist

Ryan Buttenbaum, Conestoga, Sr.

US Lacrosse All-American, All-EPSLA, Central League first-team pick …Won more than 75 percent of his face-offs for the District 1 and PIAA state champions …Was key for a transition game that helped Conestoga finish 24-2 and ranked in Top 10 in country .. Tallied 10 goals … Will play at Lehigh University.

Drew Kennedy, Malvern Prep, Jr.

Under Armour Underclassmen, Inter-Ac League Honorable Mention pick … Dominant force at X for Inter-Ac co-champions, won well over 70 percent of his draws … Has committed to play at Johns Hopkins University.

Midfielder/Face-Off

Liam O’Connor, Haverford School, Sr.

US Lacrosse All-American, Under Armour All-American, All-EPSLA, Inter-Ac Co-Most Important Player, Inter-Ac first-team pick … Was dominant face-off man who also excelled at midfield, scoring 35 goals for Inter-Ac co-champs and Inter-Ac Invitational champs … Will play at Notre Dame University.
