Catholic League boys’ semifinals: La Salle and St. Joseph’s Prep will meet in finals again

For the 10th year in a row, La Salle and St. Joseph’s Prep will meet in the Catholic League boys’ lacrosse championship game.

The top-seeded Explorers (17-2) and second-seeded Hawks (12-7) cruised to victories today in the league semifinals at Bonner-Prendergast and will square off for the crown and the league’s lone Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association berth Thursday at Plymouth Whitemarsh at 6 p.m.

La Salle, the two-time defending state champion, has won the last six league titles.

La Salle downed Cardinal O’Hara, 13-4 as Kevin Forster, Dan Losier,
Christian Cardinal, Patrick Resch and Jack Bogorowski each scored two goals.

St. Joseph’s Prep handled Lansdale Catholic, 14-4 as Fenton Fitzpatrick had three goals and Jeff Heath added two goals and three assists. Rob Watts and Anthony Marini each added two goals and an assist and Blaine Fleming scored twice.

Liam Malley led LC with two goals and an assist.
