Scholastic girls’ roundup: Episcopal Academy captures sixth straight inter-Ac League title; GFS advances to Friends League finals

Taylor Trimble had three goals and two assists and Libby Eyre added three goals and one assist to help power visiting Episcopal Academy to a 16-3 victory over Agnes Irwin, giving EA its sixth straight Inter-Ac League championship.

The Chuirchwomen – who have 11 titles in the past 12 years – finish their season at 16-5 overall and 11-1 in the Inter-Ac. Alexa Buckley and Blake McHugh each added three goals for EA while Jennie Minnick made 10 saves in goal.

Chloe Burch led Agnes Irwin with two goals.

Germantown Friends 13, Moorestown Friends 6

Lilly Tyson and Betsy Sachs each scored three goals and Iris Williamson added two goals and two assists to lead the Tigers (15-3) into the Friends Schools League championship game.

GFS will host Friends’ Central in the title game Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

Lyles Swift-Farley had two goals and one assist and Annie Morrissey added two goals for the Tigers. Lucy Rabinowitz contributed a goal and an assist and Samie Francis was a key in the goal with 10 saves.

GFS caused 15 turnovers, while committing only eight fouls. Shelby Tucker, Alex Clarke, Isabella DiDio, Sierra Carter Gordon, Emma Schmidt and Sophie Mercuris led a solid defense.

Notre Dame 21, Germantown Academy 6

Kristen Bandos had five goals and one assist and Katie Blumenthal added three goals and six assists while Bridget Burns had two goals and two assists for the Irish.
