Wednesday’s scholastic boys’, girls’ roundup: GFS tops GA; Malvern Prep falls to Lawrenceville

Betsy Sachs pumped in eight goals and added two assists today as host Germantown Friends defeated Germantown Academy, 15-11, in a non-league girls’ lacrosse game.

Annie Morrisey and Lily Tyson each added two goals and an assist for the Lions, who improved to 14-2 as they gear for the Friends Schools League tournament as the No. 1 seed.

Lucy Rabinowitz added a goal and an assist and Samie Francis made nine saves for GFS.

Mia Jordan had three goals and an assist while Stephanie LaMont and Caroline Haynie each had three goals for GA.

Delaware Valley Charter 22, Northeast 10

Nichel Bryant scored eight goals and Chasidy McLauren added seven more to lead Delaware Valley Charter to a Public League win over Northeast in the Public League. Also scoring for Del Val were Somaly Kim (three goals), Shyna In (three goals) and Lagbeh Weah (one goal).

Ciara Hardy made her first start in goal and played the whole game for Del Val.

Leading the scoring for Northeast was Sarah Barbakoff with six goals. Also scoring for Northeast were Tammy Sloan (three goals) and Payal Brahmbhatt (one goal).

Pennridge 11, Central Bucks South 9

Jen Moyer and Nikki Beck 4 each scored four goals to lead the Rams to the Suburban One Continental win.


Wissahickon 20, Upper Merion 5

Aubrey Bossert fired in eight goals and added one assist and four draw controls as the Trojans claimed the Suburban One American win.

Laura Frankenfield added four goals, three assists and four groundballs while Sam Stutman had three goals and two assists. Ashley Bossert contributed one goal, one assist and three draw controls and Alex Smith had a goal, three interceptions and two draw controls.

Kellie Manopello and Amanda McAter each scored two goals for Upper Merion.

Abington Friends 10, Lower Moreland 4

Casey Mutchler hadthree goals and Kelly McGlynn and Francesca Gonzalez-Herez each scored two for Abington Friends.

Haverford High 15, Plymouth Whitemarsh 4

Katrina Geiger and Kelsey Leblanc each scored five goals and Liz Bassani added three goals to lead the Fords to the non-league win.

Meg McCullough had two goals for PW.

Boys
Lawrenceville (NJ) 5, Malvern Prep 4

Mark Jackson had two goal and TJ Hanzsche and Mike Dougherty each scored once for the Friars (11-7) in the non-league loss to Lawrenceville.

St. Joseph’s Prep 13, Roman Catholic 5

Pat Swanick, Fenton Fitzpatrick, and Johnny Gregitis had two goals each as the Hawks improved to 9-7 overall and 4-0 in the Catholic League.

La Salle 16, Lansdale Catholic 3

The Explorers (14-2) finished their Catholic League North season at 6-0 and have the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Catholic League (District 12) tournament. Christian Cardinal led La Salle with four goals, while
Kevin Edling scored two for LC.

Hill School 10, Academy of the New Church 4

The Blues improved to 9-6 as PJ Mara had five goals and one assist and Nate Smith-Ide contributed one goal and three assists and Ted Wolter had a goal and two assists.
