Delaware pulled off its second straight Colonial Athletic Association upset Saturday night as Milt Roberts Game MVP Curtis Dickson scored three goals to lead the host Blue Hens to a 10-6 victory over 11th-ranked Drexel in men’s lacrosse action.
Nick Elsmo and John Austin each added two goals while Grant Kaleikau, Anthony Ruiz and Eric Smith had one apiece.
Delaware (7-6, 2-2 league) was coming off a big win over UMass and now can wrap up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CAA Tournament with a win next Saturday at Penn State.
Dickson was pleased to see his team have some success against Drexel standout sophomore goalie Mark Manos, the hometown hero from Salesianum School and West Chester who has established himself as one of the top goalies in the nation this year.
“Mark Manos is an outstanding player and we picked and chose spots in order to find a way to score goals,” said Dickson. “Our shooters did well as we kept under his (Manos) skin.
“On my three goals, I got open and buried the shots that I needed. I put it over his shoulder. In the first coupe of games our squad struggled and now we have the ball rolling.”
Drexel (9-4, 2-2) got two goals from Colin Ambler (Abington) and one each by Robert Church, Adam Dennis, Brendan Glynn (St. Joseph’s Prep) and Scott Perri.
The game was played in honor of Milt Roberts, who co-founded the University of Delaware Men’s Lacrosse Program. Delaware Head Coach Bob Shillinglaw coached his 500th career lacrosse game.

Lehigh 10, Lafayette 9, OT
Freshman Dante Fantoni took a pass from senior Brian Bienemann and scord the game-winner at the 1:29 mark of overtime to lift the Mountain Hawks to a dramatic Patriot League victory over the arch-rival Leopards.
With the win the Mountain Hawks finish the season at 8-7 as sophomore Adam Johnston led the way with five goals and Dan Carr (Penn Charter) made nine saves in goal. Steve Serling scored four times for the No. 19 Leopards as they fall to 8-5 overall and 3-3 in the Patriot League.
Dartmouth 15, Penn 11
Rob McMullen scored five goals and Corey Winkoff had two goals and four assists for the Quakers (5-8, 1-5) in the Ivy League loss.
Manhattan 14, St. Joseph’s 8
Sean Evans (Henderson) and Artie Marrapese each had two goals for the Hawks (2-12, 2-5 MAAC) in defeat.
Quinnpiac 20, Bellarmine 7
Jack Oppenheimer (Germantown Academy) had six goals to lead the Bobcats (6-5, 3-3 ECAC).
Army 13, Holy Cross 10
Rob McCallion (Episcopal Academy) had two goals and two assists as the Cadets (8-5, 6-0) remained atop the Patriot League.
Division III
Haverford College 7, Swarthmore 6
Zack Cohen’s game-winner five minutes into the final period allowed the Fords to take a Centennial Conference win from the host Garnet in the regular season finale for both squads.
Haverford (9-5, 5-3 CC) will head into the conference tournament semifinal next Friday, against 5th-ranked Dickinson College (14-1, 7-1 CC), riding a four-game win streak. Swarthmore’s season ends with a 4-9 mark overall and a 1-7.
Cohen and Max Hjelm (Conestoga) led the Fords’ offensive attack with two goals apiece.
Women
Division I
Lehigh 15, Colgate 12
Lauren Dykstra fired in six goals as the Mountain Hawks (13-3, 5-1) claimed the Patriot League win.
Loyola 17, Villanova 15
Justine Donodeo had six goals and Erica Rybinski had five goals and three assists for the Wildcats (7-7, 0-6) in the Big East.
Division II
West Chester 15, Millersville 7
Nicole Haines (Great Valley) had four goals and three assists to lead the Rams (15-0, 9-0) to the PSAC East win.
Holy Famly 14, Philadelphia Univ. 12
Gina Mansi set the program record for goals in a game with six to help Holy Family defeat Philadelphia in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest.
Holy Family wraps up its regular season with an overall record of 9-6 and a CACC mark of 8-4. The Tigers secured the second seed in the CACC Championship Tournament that gets underway on Saturday, May 1 at Georgian Court University. Holy Family will face either Wilmington (Del.) University or Philadelphia in the semi-final.
Jenn James (Little Flower) scored four goals and Stephanie McNesby (Archbishop Ryan) recorded three points (two goals, one assist), while midfielder Jamie-Lynn Wallace (Nazareth) added two goals.
In goal, Melissa Jenkins (Interboro) recorded 15 saves, including numerous big saves on free-position shots in the late going.
