After leading the Marist women’s lacrosse team to wins over Lehigh and Siena this past week, sophomore attack Kelly Condon (Abington) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.

Condon had seven goals and three assists in Marist’s wins over Lehigh and Siena this week. The sophomore opened the week with four goals on only five shots in the Red Foxes’ 8-6 win at Lehigh. She then had three goals on three shots, with three assists as Marist took down Siena 12-11 at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field. Condon also had three ground balls and two draw controls.

Shippensburg’s Kuntzmann (Hatboro-Horsham) is PSAC East Player of the Week

Shippensburg senior midfielder Gayle Kuntzmann (Hatboro-Horsham) did a little bit of everything last weekend for Shippensburg as the Lady Raiders went 2-1 on the week.

On the offensive end, Kuntzmann led Shippensburg by scoring 10 goals, including a game-winner, on just 10 shots as she scored on every shot she took. On the defensive end, she caused nine turnovers and also added a total of 14 ground balls and seven draw controls.

She played sparingly in a 22-2 win over Shepherd, compiling four groundballs and causing three turnovers in the win as Shippensburg rested many of its regulars for most of the game. She then helped the Lady Raiders to a 13-11 win over Bloomsburg, scoring a career-high six goals, including the game-winner, and adding five draw controls, two groundballs and one caused turnover.

She helped the Raiders come back from a three-goal deficit by scoring five of her six goals in the last 12:46 of the contest. Kuntzmann wrapped up the week with four goals, a season-high eight groundballs and five caused turnovers in a 17-12 loss to East Stroudsburg.

Haverford’s Hammerschlag is Centennial Conference Player of Week

Haverford sophomore goalkeeper Leah Hammerschlag has been named the Conference Players of the Week. Hammerschlag was outstanding in the Fords’ 9-6 win at Dickinson, registering 16 saves and surrendering just four goals in 49:34. For the week, she posted a 6.81 goals-against average and a 67.9 save percentage.
