Abbie Hartman scored four goals while Danielle Horn and Halie Lear each added two and Sarah Pralll made 16 saves to lead North Penn to an 8-7 triumph today over host Boyertown in a non-league battle of Top 10 girls’ teams on the opening day of the PIAA season.
North Penn, the defending Suburban One Continental Conference champion, is ranked No. 9 in the Pennsylvania Media Lacrosse Rankings. The Bears, the defending Pioneer Athletic Conference champs, are No. 10.
Kaitlin Colbridge led the North Penn defense with five draw controls and two groundballs while Stacey Pellechia and Rachel Shaw each added assists.
Raelynn Mikell led the Bears with two goals while Sam Kochey had a goal and an assists and Brooke Fisher,
Kelly Furman, Zoe Reilly and Jess Johnson had one apiece.
