Liam O’Connor had two goals and an assist while Carl Walrath and Matt Walters each scored twice as visiting Haverford School defeated La Salle, 9-6, today in a non-league boys’ lacrosse game featuring two of the top-ranked teams in the state.
Grove Stewart, Henry Blynn and Brendan McGrath also scored one goal each for the Fords (3-2), who are ranked No. 3 in the PA Media Lacrosse Rankings. La Salle, the two-time defending state champion, was playing in its opener and is ranked No. 5.
Haverford School led, 3-0, after one period, 5-2 at halftime and 7-3 after three periods. Goran Murray paced the Fords’ defense.
Kevin Forster and Dan Losier each scored two goals for the Explorers while Jack Bogorowski and Christian Cardinal added one apiece.
