Ursinus College senior midfielder Eric Farris (Pottsgrove) scored his third goal 1:26 into the overtime as the Bears won their Centennial Conference opener with a 8-7 win over Swarthmore Wednesday afternoon.
Farris’ goal, which came in front of the cage, kept Ursinus (5-0) undefeated with a 5-0 mark. That mark is the best start in the history of the program.
Five other players scored in addition to Farris, with sophomore attack David Kraus, senior attack Dan Monzo (Spring-Ford), freshman attack Taylor Allen sophomore defender Mike Alfieri and senior attack Pat Nagle all finding the back of the cage.
For Swarthmore (1-3, 0-1), sophomore midfielder Max Hubbard had a game-high four goals, while senior attack Tyler Bradshaw had two.
Hubbard’s fourth goal of the game with 6:10 left in the fourth gave Swarthmore at 7-6 lead. Ursinus then forced the overtime on a goal by Kraus with 4:57 left, on an assist by Ocampo.
Gettysburg 12, Cabrini 9
Casey Grugan (Ridley) had four goals and an assist for the No. 19 Cavaliers (3-3) in their loss to the No. 1 Bullets (7-0).
Haverford 12, Skidmore 8
Myles Monnaghan had four goals while Max Hjlem (Conestoga) added three goals and an assist to pace the No. 14 Fords (4-2).
Lynchburg 16, Scranton 4
Dylan Hoff (Downingtown East) had two goals and an assist and Jon Gill (Unionville) added a goal for No. 18 Lynchburg (4-2). Freshman goalie Ben Worthington (Archbishop Wood) played solid in the second half for Scranton (2-3), making seven saves.

Georgetown 13, Delaware 11
Curtis Dickson scored three goals and Martin Cahill added a pair for the Blue Hens (4-3) in their loss to the Hoyas (3-2).
