Women’s roundup: Drexel defeats La Salle, 11-7, to improve to 7-1; Hawks fall

Becca Drylie-Perkins poured in four goals while Whitney Johnson made nine saves and allowed just four goals in a shade under 49 minutes as in the net as visiting Drexel dumped La Salle, 11-7 today in women’s Division I lacrosse.

The win gave the Dragons a 7-1 mark while the Explorers fell to 3-3.

Alyse Maiden, Katie Lawson, Kelli Joran (Downingtown East), Katie Blazer, Sam Berger, Charlotte Wood (Conestoga) and Emily Kane each scored once for the Dragons and Julia Lanzatta (Ridley) led the defense with two caused turnovers.

Jill Davis (Ridley), Lauren McDermott (North Penn) and Stefany McKee each scored twice and Ashley Rutz scored once for La Salle.

Megan Corliss (Archbishop Carroll) made eight stops while absorbing the loss. Nicole Musto earned a team-high three draw controls and also caused a pair of turnovers.

Monmouth 10, St. Joseph’s 7

Freshman Olivia Salata (Archbishop Carroll) scored three goals as Monmouth (1-5) earned its first win of the year and dropped the host Hawks to 2-5.

Grace Dinn scored three goals for St. Joe’s and Jen Peters added two tallies.

Robert Morris 11, Manhattan 7

Courtney Sicinski (Downingtown West) scored three goals to help spark the host Colonials (2-3) to the victory.

Division II

Philadelphia University 22, Post University 1

Taylor Boyle, Kathleen Maurer and Kalin Hodel each scored three goals while Taylor Peltzer added three to lift the Rams (1-1) to the easy win in the CACC.

Division III

Moravian 17, Neumann 9

Jillian Pagliei (Council Rock North) tallied six goals while Katie Wise (Abington) and Allison Hess (Souderton) each had three and Sarah Carman (Pennridge) had two to lead the Greyhounds (2-1).

Alex Bohen (Upper Merion) led the Knights (1-4) with four goals and Colleen Finnegan added three.
