College roundup: Philly girls lead Bloomsburg to 14-12 victory

Sam Mazzie (Boyertown) collected four goals and two assists and Allie Kakareka (Spring-Ford) contributed three goals and an assist to lead visiting Bloomsburg (2-0) to a 14-12 victory over Belmont Abbey in Division II women’s lacrosse action.

Kim Springman (Bishop Shanahan) and Maggie Canavan (Springfield-Montco) each tallied two goals for the Huskies while goalie Shelby Iezzi (Owen J. Roberts) made six stops for the win.

Molloy 20, Holy Family 1

Melissa Jenkins (Interboro) made 11 saves and Katherine Podlinski scored once for Holy Family (0-2).

Division I

Syracuse 19, Vermont 7

Jackie DePetris (Archbishop Carroll) had a goal and an assists for the Orange (3-1).

Men

Division III

American International 11, Neumann 8

The host Knights fell to 0-2.
