The Philadelphia Wings have signed veteran transition player Josh Sims to a National Lacrosse League contract. Sims played for the Colorado Mammoth the past seven seasons, helping the team to its only NLL Championship in 2006.
In his 112 games played with the Washington Power (2001-02) and Colorado Mammoth (2003-09), Sims picked up 770 loose balls and had 195 total points (87 goals, 108 assists). He also has 94 loose balls and 22 points (14G, 8A) in 12 career playoff games.
As a collegiate player for Princeton University, Sims helped lead the Tigers to two National Championships (1997-98). He was also named an NCAA All American three times and won the NCAA’s Division I midfielder of the year award twice (1998, 2000).
The Wings open their 2010 season Jan. 8 at the Orlando Titans.
