Downingtown East senior attack Julianne Jochym has made a verbal commitment to play Division II lacrosse at perennial powerhouse West Chester University.
Jochym has been a starter the past two years for Downingtown East. She helped the Cougars finish 12-8 last year and reach the second round of the District 1 tournament.
Jochym, who plays club lacrosse for Blitz Lacrosse Club, will be a captain for the Cougars in 2010.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and possesses a 4.0 GPA. Jochym will play at a West Chester program that has won two NCAA Division II National championships and last year finished 14-3 in 2009.
Seniors headed to Dvision I and II colleges can sign National Letters of Intent in the early signing period beginning Wednesday until Nov. 18.
