The roster of 320 players registered for the inaugural Philly Lacrosse Showcase slated for Nov. 21 at Episcopal Academy will be released at midnight Saturday.

The event will bring many of the top boys’ lacrosse players of the senior, junior and sophomore classes in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond to the Philadelphia area to play in front of as many as 100 coaches from Division I, II and III programs.

The event is being run by Episcopal Academy head coach Andy Hayes, who said that already 45 coaches have committed to attend what figures to be one of the biggest recruiting events of the year.

“It’s certainly exceeded our expectations as far as people participating,” said Hayes, who originally planned to have 210 players. “But it has not exceeded our expectations for the talent level and the coaches watching.”

Hayes said players are coming from as far as California and from Eastern states Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, Georgia and the District of Columbia as well as Ohio and Illinois.

The rosters will be released on both Phillylacrosse.com – one of the event sponsors – and on the Philly Lacrosse Showcase website at www.phillyshowcase.com

The event will held on six fields and feature NCAA referees and NCAA rules. Each player will be guaranteed to play three games in the morning. From those games, “Fab 40” All-Star teams will be picked and the All-Star games will be played in the afternoon. Extensive and live coverage of the event will be provided all day on Phillylacrosse.com.

The rain date for the event is Sunday, Nov. 22.
