Girls’ wrap: Ridley edges Harriton at buzzer on Allen’s goal; Panthers roll

Shaela Allen scored as the clock expired to give Ridley a 13-12 Central League girls’ lacrosse win at Harriton today.

Allen had an 8-meter shot saved by Harriton’s Jackie Marshall with 10 seconds left before a foul was called during a scrum in front of the goal with 0.8 seconds left.  Allen got another 8-meter shot with 0.8 seconds left and put in her shot as time ran out to win it.

Ridley led, 10-6, before the Rams rallied to take a 12-11 lead with 2:59 on a goal by Jess Schwab off a feed from Ally McLaughlin. Ridley tied it 47 seconds later.

Jenna Massimo led the Green Raiders with four goals while Ashley Henderson had two two goals and two assists while Allen, Sam Bartow and Becky Donkin each scored twice.

Schwab had three goals and seven draw controls for the Rams while Laura Walzer scored three gfoals and Jess Rothstein had two goals and two assists.

Sam Tulskie had five goals and and Madison Poplawski had four as the No. 4 Cougars (13-2)  cruised.

Penncrest 12, Lower Merion 11

Caroline Moore pumped in seven goals and Colleen Doherty made 17 saves in goal to lead the Lions.

Upper Dublin 16, Norristown 2

Emily Hitchings and Amy Cross each tossed in three goals as the Cardinals remained perfect in the Suburban One American Conference.

For Upper Moreland, Alisha Pagano and Lily Smith each had three goals, and Karen Illuminati added a goal and three assists while Sarah Baumgardner made 1 stops in goal.

Council Rock North 13, Hatboro-Horsham 5

Elly Plappert scored four goals and sister Hannah Plappert added three scores for the Indians. Lauren Purvis had four goals for the Hatters.

Melissa MacCrory scored four goals to lead East.

Stephanie Finley scored eight goals and had three assist to lead the Lions (6-7, 4-7) to the Catholic Academies win. Haley Ciccarelli, Katie Dempsey and Kara Shields each had two goals while Claire Fitzpatrick added one goal and two assists. Marisa Palombi had four goals for VJM.
