Philly’s Wharton, Christopher lead Johns Hopkins to win in opener

    Kyle Wharton (Haverford School) scored three goals and Brian Christopher (Springfield-Delco) had a goal and two assists to lead host Johns Hopkins to an 11-3 rout of Siena Friday in a men’s lacrosse opener.

    Matt Dolente (Malvern Prep) added an assist for the Blue Jays.

Syracuse 17, Army 6

    Scott Kahoe (Radnor) had a goal and an assist to help the host Orangemen improve to 2-0. Rob McCallion (Episcopal Academy) scored once for Army (1-1).

Women

Syracuse 15, Stanford 10

    Megan Mosenson (Great Valley) scored two goals as the Orangewomen (2-0) dealt the Cardinal (3-1) their first loss. Ashley Aruffo (Episcopal Academy) scored once for Stanford.

Louisville 16, Bryant 6

    Bergan Foley (Gwynedd Mercy Academy) scored three goals as the Cardinals won their opener.

Duke 14, Richmond 9

    Emma Hamm (Baldwin School) had two assists and three defense clears as the Blue Devils improved to 3-0.

Northwestern 21, Notre Dame 5

    Freshman Maggie Tamasitis (Boyertown) scored once for the Fighting Irish (1-1) in their loss to the four-time defending national champions (4-0).
