Women’s recruit: Chichester senior midfielder Pace chooses Temple

Chichester senior midfielder Kellee Pace has signed a letter of intent to play at Temple University.

Pace, a first-team All-Del-Val League pick last year, chose Temple in hopes of becoming an athletic trainer.

“I really liked the location of Temple and I liked all the girls on the team,” said Pace, who has scored over 100 career goals. “Plus, it had the major I wanted: kinesiology. I’d like to branch out into athletic training.”

Pace joins fellow Del-Val League standout Steph Parcell (Interboro) as Temple recruits.

At Temple, Pace will get to play for head coach Bonnie Rosen, who Saturday was inducted into the Eastern Pennsylvania Lacrosse Hall of Fame and last year led the Owls to the Atlantic 10 Conference championship.

“I really liked her,” Pace said. “It is a really good program.  And Steph and I have played against each other since 7th grade. We also played on the same team for Ultimate Goal Lacrosse two years ago.”

Pace said she is ready for the challenge of Division I lacrosse.

“I will have to get used to that level coming from high school, but feel I’m a pretty good offensive player,” she said.

Pace is looking forward to her last high school season.

“Our team is really young and we don’t have a lot of experience, but all the girls love playing and they all give it their all,” she said. “I guess we don’t play with expectations of going to the playoffs, but we play each game to play (our best).”
