The Mesa Fresh 2010 club team made a strong showing the past two weekends in the Rutgers Fall MVP Tournament and the Fall Ball Recruiting Classic at St. Paul’s School near Baltimore.

At Rutgers, Mesa Fresh defeated the Long Island Storm, 7-4, the Long Island Express, 10-4, and MadVax (Va.), 10-1.

The weekend before at the Recruiting Classic, Mesa Fresh handled North Anne Arendel County (Md.), Fuze (Va.) and Trilogy (Va.) by a combined 29-5.

Overall in the fall, Mesa Fresh – comprised of juniors from the Main Line and Chester County – went 10-1 against some of the top club teams in the country, after going 31-6 in the summer and winning the Lax Max Tournament and the Battle of the Hotbeds at the University of Delaware. Mesa Fresh also fell to local rival Malvern Prep, 4-3, in the championship game of the Rutgers MVP tournament in June.

The team consists of (see picture on right): Bottom row (from left), Colt Growney, Jeff Chu, Ryan Lord, Kieran Avis, Austin Campbell, Chase Growney and Liam O’Connor, who won 95 percent of his face-offs in the fall.
