GMH Philadelphia falls in ALL Blue Conference playoffs, 7-6

GMH Philadelphia Lacrosse Club made a valiant comeback attempt but fell to the New York Athletic Club, 7-6, Sunday in the finals of the American Lacrosse League (ALL) Blue Conference playoffs.

GMH Philadelphia had erupted for six unanswered goals after falling behind, 5-0, in the first quarter. But the defending ALL champions tied it in the fourth period and won it with four minutes left in the game.

Mike Holloway led GMH with two goals and goalie Eric Gregg made seven saves.

The victory advances New York to the ALL championship game Saturday against Capital Lacrosse Club of Washington D.C. in Baltimore.

In the Blue Conference semifinals Saturday, GMH Philadelphia raced to an 8-2 lead and defeated the Bulls Lacrosse Club, 12-5.

Holloway and Brian Tingle led the charge with three goals apiece while Frank Bedford and Pat Friel added two goals each. Matt Murray and Gregg each made six saves.
