The host Rochester Knighthawks scored their season high in goals and thumped Philadelphia, 20-12, Saturday in the National Lacrosse League, dealing the Wings their second straight road loss.

“They are a very explosive team and we found that out tonight,” said Wings coach Dave Huntley. “We had trouble getting into a rhythm and against a team as talented as Rochester you need that constant pressure to be successful.”

Rochester (5-6) led 6-2 after the first period and 13-7 at halftime. The Wings (7-3) drew within 14-11 in the third period with the help of three goals by Athan Iannucci, but the Knighthawks outscored Philadelphia 6-1 in the final period.

Geoff Snider had three goals and two assists for the Wings while Jake Bergey added two goals and three assists. Kyle Sweeney (Springfield-Delco) added a goal and an assist while John Grant led Rochester with four goals and four assists and Ken Millen had three goals and four assists.
