Temple signs 8 for Class of 2027, including four from Pennsylvania

After a highly anticipated National Signing Day, Temple lacrosse welcomes the addition of eight newcomers to the program in the high school graduating class of 2023, as announced by Head Coach Bonnie Rosen (Harriton). 

“We are so excited to welcome this next class to the Temple lacrosse family. Each of them caught our attention with their play on the field, but it was their love of lacrosse, hunger to compete at the highest level, and team-first mentality that allowed them to stand out in the end. They continue in the Temple lacrosse tradition of being players who are committed students in the classroom, great teammates, and who are fortunate to have wonderful families surrounding them!” – Bonnie Rosen

Laura Connor, a 5’6” attacker, joins the Cherry and White from just outside the city limits in Wallingford, Pa. The Philadelphia Area native is a four-year letterwinner at Strath Haven High School where she has distinguished herself as an elite force. Connor tallied 45 goals and 57 assists in her first year of high school competition. This 102-point performance led the team to a 15-3 record, while proving to be enough to earn a spot on the All-Central League Honorable Mention team.  As a junior she added 43 goals and 20 assists to earn All-Central League First Team honors, First Team All-Delco honors, and a spot on the US Academic All-American squad. Connor plays club for Dynasty Elite.

Lily Caravela, a 5’4” midfielder joins the Owl family from Caldwell, NJ. As a four-year letterwinner at Caldwell High School, Caravela has established herself as one of the top players in New Jersey, being named to the Top 75 Sophomores and Top 75 Juniors by In her sophomore and junior season combined, Caravela tallied 195 points on 117 goals and 78 assists. From these efforts, she earned NJIGLL First Team All-League honors, NJIGLL Frist Team All-Essex County honors, and NJIGLL All-Academic team honors both her sophomore and junior seasons. Caravela plays club for DEWLAX Black, a team that has ranked as high as 20th in the nation.

Samantha Keck, a 5’7” midfielder comes to Philadelphia from Denver, Pa. A four-year letterwinner at Cocalico High School, Keck made an impact immediately. After the cancellation of her freshman season due to COVID-19, Keck reached 101 draw controls as a sophomore, being named most valuable midfielder, while also earning a spot on the Lancaster-Lebanon Second Team.  As a junior, she reached the 100-career goal milestone, finding a spot on the Lancaster-Lebanon First Team. Keck plays club for Xtreme Lacrosse.

Jenna Facciolli, a 5’7” attacker, joins the Owls from West Lawn, Pa. A four-year letterwinner at Wilson High School, Facciolli has been an instrumental piece to the attack. After the cancellation of her freshman season due to COVID-19, Facciolli helped lead her team to a 17-5 record as a sophomore, picking up honorable mention recognition. As a junior, Facciolli served as a captain, leading the team to an impressive 19-7 mark. Facciolli plays club for Xtreme, while also being a four-year letterwinner in field hockey.

Sarah Gowman, a 5’4” midfielder joins the Cherry and White from Elverson, Pa. A four-year letterwinner at Twin Valley High School, Gowman had a breakout sophomore season. After netting 39 goals and adding 32 assists to help lead her team to a 22-3 record, she was named to the Berks County All-Star team, the only sophomore to receive the honor. Her 71-point performance helped the team to a district championship appearance, followed by a state semifinals appearance. After a standout sophomore season, Gowman was sidelined due to injury junior year. Gowman plays club for Xtreme.

Emily Herbert, a 5’2” defender comes to the City of Brotherly Love from Bethpage, N.Y. A four-year letterwinner at Bethpage High School, Herbert has played an essential role in anchoring the defensive unit. As a sophomore, she helped her team to an 11-3 record which included clinching the conference championship. As a junior, she earned All-Conference recognition. Herbert plays club for the nationally ranked, Long Island Jesters.

Colleen Berardino, a 5’10” goalie joins the Owls from Millersville, Md. Berardino served as the starting goalie as early as sophomore year, helping her team receive a 12th place national ranking and 5th place ranking in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland (IAAM) as a junior. Berardino plays club for Pride Lacrosse.

Peyton Flynn, a 5’9” midfielder joins the Cherry and White from Mason, Ohio. A four-year letterwinner and two-time captain for William Mason High School, Flynn has been an essential piece to the midfield. Flynn helped her team to an impressive 18-4 record as a sophomore, followed by a 14-8 record as a junior. Flynn plays club for Summit Lacrosse.
