Temple lacrosse Head Coach Bonnie Rosen has announced the addition of Carley Adams to the Owl squad, joining as an assistant coach beginning in mid-January.
“I am thrilled to welcome Carley to the Temple lacrosse coaching staff and the Temple lacrosse family,” Rosen said. “It was clear from the moment I met Carley that she would be a valuable addition to the program. First and foremost, she is a great person who is a demonstrated leader, team player, and an outstanding lacrosse player. Her passion for the sport, being a part of a team, and her drive to build great programs makes her a perfect fit for our Temple Lacrosse program.”
Adams comes to North Broad after a five-year stint at Arizona State, where she had an illustrious playing career as a student-athlete. Helping to build the program from the ground up, Adams was a member of the 2018 team which served as the inaugural season for Arizona State women’s lacrosse.
The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native made her mark immediately, starting in all 79 games beginning in the 2018 season. She tallied 195 career points on 140 goals and 55 assists to lead the team in points in both 2021 and 2022. Her efforts did not go unnoticed, as she amassed multiple accolades over her five-year playing career including PAC-12 First Team All-Conference (2021, 2022), IWLCA First Team All-Region (2021), U.S. Lacrosse Magazine National Player of the Week (2022), US Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention (2022). In addition to her success on the field, Adams served as team captain from 2019-2022, playing a key role in leading the new program to a national ranking as high as No. 22 in 2022.
Outside of her playing career, Adams obtained multiple coaching roles, serving as a club coach for Vortex Elite from 2021-2022, the top club in Phoenix, Az. In similar fashion, Adams assisted at the Sun Devils Lacrosse Camps and Northwestern Lacrosse Camps where she helped in the organization and facilitation of camp and practice for over 250 high school athletes collectively.
“This is such a special opportunity, and I am so grateful for the entire Temple lacrosse family for giving me the chance to do what I love most surrounded by amazing people,” Adams said. “From the first time I met Bonnie and Liz, I immediately felt their love for the game and their dedication to this team. After following the team’s success on and off the field, I am so excited to get to know them better and learn from them along the way. I’m pumped for what we will achieve together in 2023!”
Adams earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Professional Sales in 2020, followed by a Master’s in Business Journalism in 2021.
