Here are the results from Week 1 of the Arrowhead Lacrosse Summer League at Cairn University.
Philly Phresh 7- Pennsbury 4:
In the opening game of the summer, Pennsbury came out hot and went up early on Philly Phresh (mostly Father Judge, Conwell-Egan, & Archbishop Ryan players), however, Philly Phresh was able to cut the lead to 1 goal going into half-time. After the half, the Philly Phresh defense led by Father Judge Goalie Gavin Ammlung (5 saves, 1 Assist) was able to limit Pennsburyś oppportunities. As a result the Philly Phresh offense really came alive, led by Father Judge middie Jason Smaron with 1 goal and 2 assists to earn a hard fought victory.
Council Rock North 5- Purple Cobras 2
In the second game of the night, CRN was able to pull out a tight game after the half. After leading 2-1 at half, CRN was able to maintain possession and score some timely goals, led offensively by CRN senior Nich Colavito (2G, 1A), while the defense was able to frustrate the Purple Cobras (a mix team of mostly North Penn, Hatboro Horsham, & Holy Ghost Prep players) led by CRN sophomore defenseman Kurken Arpajan (2 CTś, 2 GB´s).
Viking Hawks 6- Truman 0
In the final game of the evening, the Viking Hawks (a mix team of CR South and Archbishop Wood) offense was too much for Truman, led offensively by Archbishop Wood middie Roman Fillipo (3g, 4a). The defense, led by Archbishop Wood LSM Joe Kelly, was able to frustrate the Truman offense all night. The one bright spot for Truman was the excellent goalie play of Tommy Bryson (7 saves), otherwise the score could have looked very different.
