Philly men helped host Maryland open the 2022 season today with a 21-12 victory over High Point at College Park.
Kyle Long (Springfield-Delco) had a goal and two assists and a groundball while Luke Wierman (Henderson) went 11 for 17 from the faceoff X and Gavin Tygh (Penn Charter) was 9 of 16 at the X and scored once.
Meanwhile, defenseman Matt Rahill (Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) had a groundball and a caused turnover for the Terps.

Colby Smith (Hempfield) had two goals, an assist, three groundalls and a caused turnover and goalie Caton Johnson (Manheim Twp.) had 8 saves in 53 minutes for the Buckeyes.

Matt Moore (Garnet Valley) had a goal, three assists and two groundballs, Jeff Conner (Strath Haven) added a goal, an assist and a groundball and defenseman Mike Prestipino (Conestoga) had a groundball and a caused turnover for UVA.

Shane Knobloch (Moorestown) had a goal, an assist and three caused turnovers and one groundball for the Scarlet Knights.

In defeat, Jacob Greiner (West Chester East) had three goals and five groundballs and Jackson Interieri (Wissahickon) had an assist for Jacksonville.
