The York Spartans were selected as the favorite in the 2022 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) men’s lacrosse coaches. The Spartans collected all eight first-place votes from opposing coaches for a total of 64 points.

In 2021, York captured the MAC Commonwealth Championship over Stevenson. This win for the Spartans was their second conference tournament win in program history and their first MAC Commonwealth tournament win.
The Spartans advanced to the NCAA tournament where they fell to No. 3 Tufts in the NCAA Quarterfinals. York ended their season with a 16-2 overall record, 5-1 in conference play, and a No. 6 national ranking.
The Nike/USA Lacrosse Division III Men’s Preseason Top 20 released on Dec. 30 ranks York at No. 6 and Stevenson at No. 15. Nike/USA Lacrosse named York’s Ryan Kennedy, Noah Bruno, Jack Michael, Ethan Greene, Vinny Facciponti and Stevenson’s Marc Poust Division III Men’s Preseason All-Americans.
The 2022 season is set to begin on Saturday, Feb. 19. Conference play will begin on Wednesday, March 3 with an eight-game five-week schedule.
The 2022 MAC Commonwealth Men’s Lacrosse Championship is set for May 3, 5, 7. The top-five seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
