The HEADstrong Pennsylvania Girls Lacrosse Club includes fall competition, winter skill development, summer tournament play and community service to help advance the mission of the HEADstrong Foundation.

“I’m very excited to bring Nicole on to launch our Pennsylvania Girls program,” HEADstrong Director of Sports Jon Knowles said. “She’s local, has played at a high level and has experience leading and coaching athletes of all ages. Tryouts on July 18 and 19 will be a great chance to get in front of her and be able to hear more about HEADstrong Lacrosse and the Foundation’s mission.

“Playing at HEADstrong means more than just lacrosse, it’s about making a difference in the community and improving lives affected by cancer. We look forward to Nicole’s direction with this club and adding more members to the family.”

Barretta, currently in her second season as the head coach of the women’s lacrosse program at Immaculata University, serves under the direction of Knowles, the 2022 Atlantic East Conference Coach of the Year at Marywood University. Beretta graduated from Temple in 2018 and received a Master’s degree from Stony Brook in 2019.

During her playing career at Temple, Barretta was a three-time Big East All-Academic team selection and scored 56 goals and added 17 assists for a total of 73 points. At Stony Brook, she appeared in 17 games with 26 goals, two assists, 18 ground balls and eight caused turnovers enroute to helping lead the Seawolves to their seventh consecutive America East Conference Championship.
