The Episcopal Academy girls’ lacrosse team has had a start that would rival just about anyone’s first week of lacrosse.
EA improved to 3-0 Tuesday when it claimed a thrilling 6-5, quadruple-overtime 6-5 win over host and Virginia power St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes.
Junior Alexis Ventresca got the game-winner after coming from behind the cage to give EA its second straight 1-goal win over an elite squad (8-7 over Garnet Valley). EA also defeated defending Inter-Ac League champion Agnes Irwin, 10-6.
Ventresca also had three draw controls and two assists. Bella Piselli contributed two goals, a draw, a groundball and a caused turnover while Maisy Montgomery, Brooke Stocku and Quinn Whitaker (3CT) each scored once. Freshman goalie Grace Holland made 14 saves.
EA – ranked No. 3 by Phillylacrosse.com – plays today at Holton Arms School (MD).
