Kevin Cain, who led Southern Lehigh to District 11 2A girls’ lacrosse championships in 2021 and 2022, has stepped down after 5 years as head coach.
Cain posted an overall record of 56-19. He said he plans to spend more time watching his step-daughter, 2021 Southern Lehigh grad Teah Lakatos, play club lacrosse at Penn State and see others he coached at the college level.
Cain also coaches part-time for the the DeSales women’s program.
Cain, who starred in baseball at Perkiomen Valley and Villanova, stepped into the job in 2017 mostly because his step-daughter and many others he coached at the youth level were coming into the high school program.
“It was time for me,” said Cain, the Phillylacrosse Northeast PA Co-Coach of the Year in 2021. “I’m sure next march I’ll be tugging at the heart to be out there, but I think I am leaving a program that’s well positioned with what’s coming back and what’s in the pipeline in the youth program. There is a foundation for continued success.”
