Defending champ Chestnut Hill College on Monday was picked first in the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The Griffins received 40 points and four first-place votes in the poll, as the voting was conducted by the league’s seven head coaches in the sport.
Chestnut Hill, which has appeared in each of the last three CACC Championship Finals, claimed the program’s inaugural conference crown in 2021. The Griffins defeated Wilmington University in last year’s final, as the Wildcats were tabbed second in the 2022 preseason poll with 38 points and a trio of first-place nods. Georgian Court University rouned out the top three in the poll, as the Lions were third with 33 points.
The 2022 regular season gets underway during the weekend of Feb. 19-20, with several programs in action. The regular season will be a buildup to the 2022 CACC Championship on April 28 & 30 at Georgian Court in Lakewood, N.J.
