The Black Bear 2024 squad finished up its summer 2022 campaign in style last weekend in Upstate New York when it won the Summit Ventures Niagara Lacrosse Classic championship with a come-from-behind 6-5 win over Unity 2024.

Black Bear went undefeated in pool play with wins over Team 224, Performax Prep 2024, Finger Lakes Rogue 2024, and Treasure State National 2024 (Montana) before meeting Unity in the Championship. Black Bear was down 3-2 at the half and 5-2 to early in the 2nd half before mounting a courageous comeback. The rally was fueled by some stingy defense and hustle plays before Black Bear chipped away, as five different players scored to secure the win.

Black Bear 2024 went a combined 17-5-2 overall this summer competing at the Baltimore Summer KickOff Session 1, Boys Summer Slam, Victory Summer Cup, Aloha Summer Sizzle, and Niagara Lacrosse Classic.

“I am just really happy for these guys, they’ve all put in a ton of work, always put the WE before the ME and they’ve earned this,” said 2024 Head Coach Bryan Churchey. “They are a fun group to coach and I am just glad they reached the summit to finish their summer.”

Players who competed at Niagara include : #22 Adam Paolone (Phoenixville), #31 Frankie Lynch (Plymouth-Whitemarsh), #24 Andrew Peeke (Sterling-NJ), #9 Jackson Campbell (Phoenixville), #21 Levi Borkowski (Methacton), #20 Cole Kleger (Methacton), #88 Brody Gundel (Spring-Ford), #34 Tyler Diffenderfer (Boyertown), #35 Drew Donato (Perkiomen Valley), #25 Ryder Gehris (Boyertown), #3 Connor Macklin (Perkiomen Valley), #92 Max Little (Methacton), #13 Wyatt Stemler (Methacton), #4 Sam Sardo (Methacton), #0 Christian Kay (Methacton), #26 Gavin Loshnowsky (Boyertown), #23 Mason Barndt (Boyertown), and #8 Jason Oakes (Boyertown)
