The No. 7 Cabrini Cavaliers have been selected as the preseason favorite to raise their 21st consecutive conference title.
The Blue and White received 36 total votes, including six of the seven possible first place votes, to claim the top spot in the 2022 Atlantic East Conference Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll.
Neumann and Marymount tied for second with 26 points each, with Neumann receiving the remaining first place nod.
Marywood’s 23 points were good for fourth, followed by Immaculata (15 points), Gwynedd Mercy (14) and Centenary (7).
The Cavaliers extended their NCAA-record conference win streak to 127 before scoring a 19-5 win over Neumann to claim the program’s 20th consecutive title.
Cabrini closed the campaign with an 11-3 overall record and made its 19th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Blue and White will open its 2022 season on Saturday, Feb. 19, as it welcomes Haverford College to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 12pm.
The 2022 Atlantic East Tournament is set to begin with the quarterfinal round on Saturday, April 30, followed by the semifinals on Wednesday, May 4 and the title contest on Saturday, May 7.
