The No. 14 Drexel women’s lacrosse team stormed back from a two-goal deficit at the half to take a victory from Hofstra. The Dragons improve to 11-1 on the season and remain undefeated in conference play, 3-0.
Karson Harris led the Dragons offense for the second game in a row, tallying four goals in five attempts while forcing a caused turnover and winning four draw controls. The senior midfielders four goals makes her only the third Dragon in program history to net 50 goals in a single season. Harris is only three goals away from tying the schools record with 54.
Prior to the game, the Dragons honored the careers of their five seniors including Courtney Dietzel (Central Bucks South), Arden Edgerton, Jamie Schneidereith, Danielle Senour and Rachel Warden (Garnet Valley).
La Salle 22, St. Bonaventure 5
Madi McKee (Garnet Valley) had five goals and an assist and seven draws while Annina Iacobucci (Villa Maria Academy) added four goals and Emily Johnston (Ridley) had three goals and an assist to lead the Explorers in the rout.
Temple 11, East Carolina 6
The Temple lacrosse team defeated ECU to close out its home slate. With the win, the Owls improve to 10-3 (6-2 AAC) while the Pirates fall to 3-11 (1-7 AAC). Temple’s nine seniors were honored following the game as part of senior day activities.
Villanova 13, UConn 12, OT
Villanova was down three goals at the start of the second half but fought back scoring two in the final two minutes to force overtime against the UConn Huskies. Alexa Tsahalis picked of a pass at midfield just under a minute and a half into overtime. She passed it to Brittany Bruno break away and score the game winner.
