From Press Release
Villanova women’s lacrosse has announced that the team will add 16 new faces to the program for the 2021-22 academic year. The group of newcomers features six attack, three midfielders, five defenders and two goalkeepers.
“In just the first few weeks of fall ball, the 15 freshmen have already shown what a strong class they are both on and off the field. Their positivity, hardworking attitudes, and togetherness have radiated through the group every day,” said head coach Jill Batcheller (Archbishop Carroll). She continued, “on the field, the freshman range in all positions, from attack through defense and have already had an immediate impact on the field.”
The program will also welcome junior Cara Moreau, their lone transfer of the season. Moreau comes to Villanova after spending the previous two seasons at Drexel while being coached by Batcheller.
“Having Cara here at Villanova has been such a blessing,” Batcheller stated. “As a transfer who came with us from Drexel, Cara stepped into a leadership role on and off the field. She understands our coaching expectations and style of play and she has been doing a really great job translating that to the rest of the team. Cara has been playing her best lacrosse so far this year and I can’t wait to see that translate to what she accomplishes this season.”
