Coming on the heels of its first NCAA At-Large Bid since 1998, the Temple lacrosse team has added a grad transfer from Penn State to the squad in midfielder Quinn Nicolai (Moorestown) for the 2022 season.

Quinn Nicolai

“We are thrilled to welcome Quinn to the Temple lacrosse family,” said head lacrosse coach Bonnie Rosen. “Quinn is an outstanding athlete, a fantastic student, and a wonderful person! Her athletic abilities, leadership experience, and passion for the game make her a wonderful fit for our Temple lacrosse culture.

“I am excited for Quinn to begin this next chapter in her life and for her to experience firsthand how special it is to be a Temple Owl!”

Nicolai – the Phillylacrosse.com South Jersey Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017 – has spent the first four years in her collegiate career with Penn State, where she earned an undergraduate degree in rehabilitation and human services. A three-year starter and four-year letter winner, she native scored 73 goals, recorded 18 assists, picked up 28 ground balls, 20 caused turnovers, and 22 draw controls.

The Moorestown native was named to the 2021 Big Tenn All-Tournament Team and is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. Nicolai served as team captain during her senior season.

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue playing the sport that I love for another year,” Nicolai said. “Playing lacrosse at Temple is going to be such an incredible experience, and I’m so ready to start my journey as an Owl!”

Temple is coming off a historic season, advancing to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1998 before falling to eventual national champion Boston College. The Owls recognized nine seniors at the end of the regular season and will welcome five freshmen to the squad for the 2022 season in addition to Nicolai.
