The PA Roughriders are pleased to announce the addition of Colyn Lyons to the coaching staff for 2021-2022 season.
Lyons has a long history with lacrosse, having grown up on the Onondaga Reservation in Upstate, NY. He grew up playing in the Onondaga Athletic Club program and attended high school at IMG Academy where he was a US Lacrosse All-American.
He played indoor for the OAC, from minors all the way up to Sr. B. He attended UAlbany, where he played longstick on a team that made the NCAA playoffs 3 times. While at Albany, Lyons was honored with the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Lyons will take over as Head Coach of the Nationally ranked 2026 Roughrider squad and will also join the skills coaches Paul Zelenak (Episcopal Assistant Coach, PLL, Drexel) 2027 Head Coach), Trey Wilkes (University of Delaware asst Coach, Ohio State), Tom Seifert (Shanahan Defensive Coordinator), Jack Twohig (Siena) running the successful fall skills development.
According to Director Doug Corrigan, “The addition of Colyn to our professional coaching staff brings an exciting new perspective and approach to the game. Added to our current roster of coaches who’ve played at ACC, Big Ten, Big East powerhouse programs the staff provides our kids with great development opportunities and continues to expand our network with NCAA programs around the country.”
