PIAA Girls’ AAA semifinals: Manheim Township advances to title game for 3rd straight time

Manheim Township will play in the PIAA girls’ Class AAA championship game for the third straight season after toppling Sewickley Academy, 18-8, at State College.

The Blue Streaks (21-5) got seven goals and two assists from Megan Rice as they broke open a 5-4 game and led 12-5 at halftime before coasting to victory. Alyssa Dotter added five goals.

Manheim, the No. 3 finisher from District 3 and Lancaster Lebanon League champion, will face Radnor in the state final at West Chester East Saturday at noon.

Manheim fell to Harriton, 12-6, in the last AAA state final, in 2019 (no season was held in 2020 due to the pandemic). The Streaks lost the 2018 game to Unionville, 11-6.
