The Phillylacrosse.com Rankings for May 8:

  1. Malvern Prep (11-2) – Last week: No. 1. The Friars bounced back from a 9-8 loss to Haverford School by clipping NJ power Seton Hall Prep, 10-5.
  2. Haverford School (9-4) – Last week: No. 3. The Fords stunned Malvern Prep, 9-8, and seem to be peaking at the right time.
  3. Episcopal Academy (7-3) – Last week: No. 2. The Churchmen blitzed Germantown Academy, 19-4.
  4. La Salle (12-2) – Last week: No. 4. The Explorers host No. 1 Malvern Prep on Wednesday.
  5. Radnor (13-1) – Last week: No. 5. The Raiders need to beat host Ridley Tuesday to finish off an undefeated Central League title.
  6. Salesianum School-DE (9-2) – Last week: No. 7. The Sals host IMG Academy (FL) on Friday.
  7. Kennett (14-0) – Last week: No. 9. The Demons can clinch their first Ches-Mont League title by defeating Downingtown East on Tuesday; on Thursday they play at No. 8 Garnet Valley.
  8. Garnet Valley (13-3) – Last week: No. 6. The Jaguars host No, 7 Kennett on Thursday.
  9. Conestoga (11-4) – Last week: No. 8. The Pioneers looked impressive Saturday in defeating Manheim Township, 14-6.
  10. Academy of the New Church (10-5) – Last week: No. 10. The Lions host Westtown School Tuesday (4 p.m.) in the Friends Schools League championship.
  11. Springfield-Delco (11-4) – Last week: No. 12. The Cougars host St. Joseph’s Prep Thursday in their regular-season finale.
  12. Sanford School-DE (11-0) – Last week: Unranked. The Warriors remained undefeated in Delaware games with a big 11-10 victory over Cape Henlopen Saturday.
  13. Germantown Academy (6-6) – Last week: No. 14. The Patriots downed Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, 10-7.
  14. Wissahickon (10-4) – Last week: No 11. The Trojans need to beat Quakertown (today) and Plymouth Whitemarsh (Tuesday) to finish off an undefeated Suburban One American Conference title.
  15. (tie) Downingtown East (12-3) – Last week: No, 15. The Cougars, who had a big win over Wissahickon but fell to Downingtown West and Central Bucks East, get their shot at undefeated Kennett on Tuesday. Downingtown West (13-3) – Last week: Unranked. The Whippets dealt Downingtown East its first league loss, but fell to Kennett.
